Bigview Escape Cottage is located at a beautiful piece of Lake Joseph with big water views. Nice privacy. Off Stanley House road, 15 minutes to the town of Rosseau and 15 minutes to Minett's Cleveland's House, JW Marriot and Abbey's Bakery.
PROPERTY
Private, nicely maintained property built around Muskoka rock. Features a great deck at the front of the cottage overlooking the lake with dining and sitting areas, dock with the same and fire pit by the water. Lounge chairs are also located by the water. A beautiful sandy shore area that is great for the kids and is separate from the dock. One interior slip in the boathouse could be made available.
INTERIOR
MAIN FLOOR
Nice entry leads into open concept Kitchen/Great Room. Light-filled Great Room with beautiful views over the lake. A 2-sided wood-burning fireplace in the Great Room also opens to the Muskoka Room. Great Room has comfortable Adirondack-style seating, Kitchen table has seating for 4. Off the Great Room is a small Media room with sectional sofa and flat screen TV with lots of DVDs. Opening from the Great Room is the Muskoka Room, a beautiful room surrounded on 2 sides by floor-to-ceiling windows with a sectional, flat screen TV above the two-sided fireplace and a French Provence dining table to seat up to 8. There is also a main floor bedroom off the Muskoka Room, bright with lovely nautical-themed bedding on a Queen size bed. The main floor also features a bright bathroom with combination bathtub/shower, large private window and a separate outdoor entrance.
UPPER LEVEL
The second level has two air-conditioned spacious bedrooms. The Primary has a Queen bed and walkout to a small deck - wake up to a beautiful view overlooking the water and, when the moon is out, go to bed with moonbeams reflecting off the lake. The Family Bedroom has 2 twin beds with matching Provence-style quilts. The upper bathroom has a shower. There is also a laundry closet (washer and dryer) on the 2nd floor.
LOWER LEVEL
The lower level is the secret jewel of the cottage. Similar to a separate bunkie, it is a separate suite to the cottage. With a stone terrace in front, the suite has its own entry with double French screen doors just above the water's edge. Sleep listening to the sounds of the water gently hitting the shoreline in a beautiful Queen bedroom suite with its private bathroom and outdoor shower, surrounded by large rocks for privacy.
EXTERIOR
Front deck off Great Room has a large deck with 2 umbrellas (you need them from the all day sun!). The deck has a dining table for 6, a semi-circular sofa for up to 6 and a propane firepit The dock also is a great area to enjoy the view, water and sun! There is a sheltered area under the boathouse rooftop to get away from the sun. Here there is a dining table for 4 and there are 2 lounge chairs on the dock. There is also a separate cozy seating area for 2 on a small stone terrace, above the beach, sheltered from the sun. Depth of water at the end of the dock is about 4', deep enough for boating. There is a sandy beach area to the left of the dock with shallow sandy bottom. Pathway around cottage to lower suite and dock is lit with discreet night time lighting.
