Moon Struck cottage is centrally-located in Muskoka. The Moon River is a large river that flows out from Lake Muskoka to Georgian Bay, land-locked so it's really more like an exclusive private lake located in the heart of Muskoka.
Located only 10 minutes to Port Carling or 3 minutes to Bala. Close to the Port Carling Golf Club, the Lake Joe Club and others, it's the perfect place for golfing and great dining experiences.
Bala is a small town but packs a big punch!
For those seeking water sports, Bush's Waterpark is just a stone's throw away. Learn to water ski, wake board, or just improve your skills. Monday is market day in Bala, which hosts many local food artisans and admire the handiwork of the area's artists.
Bala is also home to the historical Kee to Bala, where until 1963 (when it was sold and renamed) hosted big bands like Louis Armstrong and the Dorsey Brothers for Saturday night dances for cottage owners. It has been now converted into an event venue, and a place to watch bands preform seasonally.
Around the corner is the Balarcade, the oldest arcade in the area. Fun for everyone and worth a look, many of the games are vintage original. In addition, Don's Bakery (a Muskoka weekend tradition since 1947) and Japsen Park with its playground are just around the corner.

PROPERTY

This year-round retreat, with well-appointed decor and its wonderful southern views will not disappoint. Mature trees adorn the property, giving it shade and privacy. Accessed year round with a well-maintained level driveway, which gives easy access for all of your guests. The cottage has an amazing 1200 feet of multi-tiered decks that provide incredible views throughout the home. The large dock with Muskoka chairs sit on to the water's edge, with 2 kayaks and a paddle boat just waiting for you, this the perfect place to enjoy the day. The home is built on a slight hill to the water, to take advantage of these breathtaking views, and there is a staircase with decks and walkways to the water's edge. For those that like fishing, just bring your rods to the dock and catch some bass, pickerel or pike, then head up to the BBQ to grill dinner.

INTERIOR

MAIN FLOOR

This home features a modern, open-concept kitchen with an island, and opens up to the dining room to take advantage of the beautiful water views. The kitchen features a gas stove and stainless steel appliances - in addition, it is fully stocked with everything you need for food preparation, along with an assortment of tableware.

The dining area is off the kitchen and the table that seats 10 in front of the large, south-facing windows that open onto a large deck perched above the water to maximize the views. Just off the dining room is the large living room, filled with comfortable furnishings, a majestic fireplace, pine ceilings and large wall filled windows. 

Here sits the Master King bedroom with its private deck and ensuite all with views to the water. There are also 2 more Queen bedrooms that share a full bathroom, both have ample closet and dresser space. 

LOWER LEVEL

There is a large entertainment room with an audio visual center, a flat screen TV, and a fireplace - here is a perfect place to watch a movie, or just stare out and take in the views.  There is also a large pool table for some competitive spirits.

The spacious lower level also takes advantage of the beautiful lake views. On this floor you will find the second King bedroom, which can be converted to two twin beds if this is preferred. 

The kids room comes equipped with a bunk beds (double on the bottom, single on top) as well as a separate twin bed.  

The Muskoka room features retractable floor to ceiling screens and glass, and provides a quiet area with great views of the lake. Access is achieved from the outside deck area.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy by Agency - If the cottage is struck by disaster prior to the start date then the contract will be null and void and payments refunded.

Cancellation Policy by Guest -
Guest may cancel the agreement 150 days prior to the start of the rental period, the deposit will be returned less a fee of $2000 per week of reservation, if rental is under $20,000 per week. For rentals at $20,000 and over, the cancellation fee is $4000/week of rental. If the Guest cancels the agreement 61 to 149 days prior to the start of the rental all deposits will be forfeited. If the Guest cancels the agreement less than 60 days before the start of the rental agreement the Guest is responsible for the full amount of the rent and is not entitled to any refund.

Deposit Policy
Deposit Policy - 50% of Rental Amount is due at time of booking, 25% if booked the calendar year prior to the rental and 25% on January 1 of the rental year. Balance of payment is due 60 days prior to arrival. Please note that there is a $250 penalty associated with late payment of the balance between 59-46 days prior to the commencement of the rental that will be charged to your credit card. At 45 days prior to the rental, Jayne's Cottages is entitled to treat the booking as cancelled as per below.

Jayne's Cottages is entitled to treat the booking of any Guest as cancelled in the event that: a) the Guest gives written notification of cancellation; b) the Guest fails to pay the full deposit due or the balance of rent by the time specified above. In the event that the booking is so cancelled, Jayne's Cottages may re-book the property for the period concerned or for part of that period.
